Global Technology Symtec, the S.W.I.F.T. Business Partner for Africa, has negotiated exclusive distribution and support rights of Siena, the flagship product of Tantus Plc, London. Global Technology Symtec is part of Global Technology Banking, a division of JSE-listed Global Technology Limited. The deal covers the sub-Saharan region, with an option to expand to Australasia. Siena is a web-based Java solution.
Paul van Dyk, MD of Global Technology Symtec comments, "There is potential for great synergy between Symtec and Tantus, which will be achieved through both companies' commitment to the support of their financial customer bases globally."
Peter Watts, Managing Director of Tantus Plc, says that the move will reinforce further Tantus' commitment to the development of emerging markets globally. The deal is expected to enable Tantus to offer its international banking and corporate treasury companies a full suite of state-of-the-art solutions. These solutions include front-office dealing systems integration, exception management and risk management, through to best practice back-office solutions.
"This new development will place Global Technology Symtec in a position to ensure that leading-edge technologies are available and fully supported in the core of the African and Australasian markets," concludes van Dyk.
