| Lofty claims for anti-virus agency |

| [Johannesburg, 30 September 2003] -
Anti-virus software NOD32 is now available in SA via 4D Digital Security, the sole local agent for the maker, US-based ESET Software.A press release detailing the announcement claims NOD32 is "the only anti-virus software not to miss a single virus in the VB100% awards (an international virus evaluation body) since introduction in 1998". ESET further claims NOD32 is "used by Microsoft to screen all [its] products prior to release".According to Erik van Vlaanderen, executive chairman of 4D Digital Security, his company's core business is that of an information security company, not just reselling products. "[This] was one of the main reasons why ESET Software selected 4D Digital Security to distribute NOD32."He adds that his company's two-year evaluation of anti-virus vendors pointed to NOD32 as "the best anti-virus solution available at present".Van Vlaanderen says there is no trade-off in system performance for NOD32's scanning procedures. "NOD32 has an impact of 6% delay in file opening and closing during monitoring, and a 15% delay during active scanning, coming out tops in [a] survey [including 10 leading brands]."Moreover, says managing partner, Justin Stanford: "Artificial intelligence, or heuristics employed in the software has pre-empted well known viruses...without updates."Update downloads happen automatically on a daily basis. 4D Digital Security also distributes CRYPTOCard, an authentication token released at the time of the Absa e-banking fraud event. NOD32 is available online and a reseller network for SA is being established.
